Santhosh Pandit

Santhosh Pandit is an Indian film actor, singer and internet celebrity.[3][4] The Deccan Chronicle reported that on one of the Saturdays in November 2011, Pandit was number 2 on Google Trends and that the searches had "crested on October 21, the day when his debut movie Krishnanum Radhayum was released and he quickly got praised for his performance in the film by pundits".[4][5]

Career

Pandit's first movie, Krishnanum Radhayum, released on 21 October 2011,[4][6] became an unexpected crowd puller and saw success in theaters. Some critics attribute the huge success of the film to the complex curiosity after the unprecedented harassment and negative comments posted on the YouTube clips related to the songs in the film.[7][8][9][10] His second film was, Superstar Santhosh Pandit,[11] where he again handled all the major departments in production.[12] like his is first movie, his second movie was a blockbuster in the box-office and with public.

Pandit appeared in the 2013–2014 MalayaleeHouse program.[13][14][15] The hosts of the show decided to hold a public poll for eviction of housemates from the 5th week onward. Pandit, was eliminated in the 4th week by the housemates.[16][15] Later the makers of the show admitted that evicting Santhosh Pandit was a mistake.[17] Due to a social media campaign, Santhosh Pandit was returned to the show as a wild-card entry on 7 June 2013. On 19 July 2013 Pandit was again evicted from the show.[18]

Awards

For handling eight departments of the film from direction to acting, Pandit received the 2011 Ekalavya Karma Sreshta Award by Ekalavya Charitable Trust.[19] He also received the Anand Sankar award for best actor.[19] In 2017, he received the Raj Kovath lifetime achievement award.[20] He got the best all-rounder of the Malayalam Film Industry Excellency Award in 2019 which was presented to him by M. K. Muneer MLA[21]
