Sanjiv Jaiswal

Sanjiv Jaiswal is an Indian film director and producer who predominantly works in Hindi films. Sanjiv Jaiswal belongs to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He wanted to become a Filmmaker since his childhood. After completing his graduation, he came to Mumbai and established his own film production house and Produced his first Film “Fareb” (2005) directed by Deepak Tijori, starring Shilpa Shetty, Manoj Bajpayee and Shamita Shetty, Written by Girish Dhameeja and Music by Anu Malik. His second film “Anwar” (2007) was written and directed by Manish Jha, starring Manisha Koirala, Siddharth Koirala, Naauheed Cyrasi and music by Mithoon. Later, he emerged as a debut writer and director with his film “Shudra-The Rising” (2012). The film portrays the universal evils- slavery, untouchability and class division of the society. The film's subject was a difficult and controversial territory on which no mainstream filmmaker had attempted to venture. He left no stone unturned in giving life to this human saga on celluloid. Sanjiv Jaiswal bagged the Best Director's Award for the film ‘Shudra-The Rising’ in Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival (2013). The film was also nominated for the Boston International Film Festival (2013) and was critically acclaimed by IMBD with 7 ratings,[1] by Times of India with 3.5 ratings[2] and by NDTV with 3 ratings.[3] After the appreciation received for Shudra-The Rising, Sanjiv's second written and directorial Hindi Feature Film was “Pranaam” (2019) starring Rajeev Khandelwal, Vikram Gokhle, Atul Kulkarni, Abhimanyu Singh and others which was released in August 2019. Now he is coming with his next Directorial feature film “Bagawat” which is going on floor in March 2020 with Rajniesh Duggall, Vikram Gokhle and many more.
