San Elijo Middle School[1] is a public middle school in the SMUSD[2]. San Elijo Middle School received a 10 out of 10 CSR rank in 2013 and a 9 out of 10 in 2016.

The current Principal of the school is Dr. Gary DeBora. 2019 is his 5th year as principal for SEMS.

The school was established in 2004, and opened in 2004. Since then, the school has remained open for every school year.

Every year, roughly 2000 students attend total, with around 600 students per grade. This school is the largest middle school in San Diego County.

The school motto is Complexity, Collaboration, and Character and the school Mascot is the Golden Eagle.
