Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet station

Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet is a railway station serving the town Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie department, southeastern France. It is the southeastern terminus of the railway from La Roche-sur-Foron, the southwestern terminus of the Saint-Gervais–Vallorcine railway and the western terminus of the Mont Blanc Tramway. It is expected to be the terminus for one of the lines of Léman Express, a suburban rail network for the Grand Genève, when it opens in 2019.

Overview

The station ticket office is open daily : 08h35-12h00 / 13h30-17h10. Outside, there are bus connections to Chamonix, les Contamines, St Gervais Bourg, and Passy.[1]

The station is the terminus of different gauge tracks. A standard gauge line with overhead power runs towards Annecy and Lyon. A narrower, third-rail track runs towards Chamonix and Martigny. There is also a rack railway line up the mountain named Mont Blanc Tramway.[2]

The station is the base for maintenance equipment including a snow plough for the Mont Blanc Express.
