Saidgai Lake

Saidgai Lake (Pashto: سيدګۍ ډنډ; Urdu: سیدگئی جھیل) also known as Saidgai Dand is a lake in the upper reaches of Ushirai Dara of Upper Dir District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the Province of Pakistan. It is located at an elevation of 11,500 feet (3,500 m) above the sea level.[1] It is located to the northwest of Gabin Jabba. The temperature is normally about 5 °C to 10 °C during hot months. Mostly this lake catches tourist from Dir and other parts of the country as well in the month of June, July and August, while the remaining months this lake is covered by snow and impossible for the tourist to stay there. Saidgai lake is at the boundary of Dir Upper.

Location

Saidgai Lake is situated in Tehseel Matta Swat, and is about 36 Kms Away from Main Town of Matta and About 15 Kms away from Gwalerai Roringar Village, and the mountains the Hindukush chain of mountains in swat mountain ranges and serves as a reservoir for Markar Cut Stream. , of Matta Tehseel which falls into Harnoi the stream coming from Jarogo Water Fall and the Swat River at PPirkalaay Matta Town. The lake is encircled by snowy mountains and pastures.

Access

The lake is accessible from three different trails and sides; Ushirai Dara, upper Dir (shortest way) which is about 6 hours by foot, Sulatanr (Roringar valley), upper Swat and Lalko (Gabina Jabba), upper Swat; about 10 to 12 hours. The Most Easy and Roaded trail is SULATANR RORINGAR Valley, which is about 28 KMs away from main Matta Town and Tourist Can easily reach through Offroad vehicles till Sulatarn and Chitkarai Villages, From Chitkarai the DIstance by feets is around 4-5 Hours.
