One of the products of the company is PrivX On-Demand Access Manager, aimed at securing machine-to-machine communication in large organizations replacing permanent access keys.[2]

The company was founded in 1995 by Tatu Ylönen, who designed the first version of the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol and software[8], some parts of which are still today included in OpenSSH[9]. He continues to work for the company full-time. The current CEO is Kaisa Olkkonen.[10] The company has been listed on the Nasdaq Nordic since 2000.[11]
