Ryan Guzman

Ryan Anthony Guzman (born September 21, 1987)[1] is an American actor.

Early life

Guzman was born in Abilene, Texas.[2] His father, Ramon Guzman, emigrated to the United States from Mexico.[3] His mother, Lisa (née Hudson), who was born in California, has English, German, French, Dutch, and Swedish ancestry. His family later moved to his mother's hometown Sacramento, California,[4] where he graduated from West Campus High School in 2005 and attended Sierra College.[5] Guzman has a younger brother, Steven.[6][7] He played baseball in college but was forced to give it up due to an injury.[8]

Career

Before going into acting, Guzman was a print and commercial model with Wilhelmina Models.[9] He began auditioning for acting roles and landed a lead role in Step Up Revolution, despite having no formal training in dancing, and Step Up: All In.[10] His first role as a series regular was Carlos Gutierrez in Heroes Reborn. In 2018 he joined the second season of 9-1-1 as a main cast member, playing LAFD firefighter Eddie Diaz.

Personal life

Guzman and his fiancée, Brazilian actress Chrysti Ane, had a son in January 2019.[11]
