Rory Currie

Rory Currie (born 20 February 1998) is a Scottish footballer who most recently played for Heart of Midlothian, as a striker. He has previously played for East Fife and Forfar Athletic on loan.

Career

Currie began his football career with Celtic's youth teams before leaving to join the Rangers Academy in January 2016 on a contract until the end of the 2015–16 season.[1]

Currie was released by Rangers in May 2016[2] but joined Heart of Midlothian.[3] He made his professional debut for Heart of Midlothian as a 75th-minute substitute during a 3–0 home win against Motherwell on 28 November 2016.[4] He followed this a month later with his second league appearance against Aberdeen on 30 December.[5]

In January 2017, he was named as one of the Daily Record's Scottish footballing prospects for 2017 alongside Liam Burt and Jack Aitchison.[6] Currie suffered a serious knee ligament injury in November 2017.[7] He was subsequently loaned to East Fife, Forfar Athletic and Linfield.[8]
