Allan Fenton Root December 19, 1927-June 25, 1995. Herpetologist. Alan was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, an only child of William R. Root and Adelia Fenton, both from New York. His Maternal Family started the Fenton Glass Company. Allan married, Anna Jeanette Dickerson, January 1,1954, together they had 3 children, Susan, William and Kristan. Allan’s Maternal family moved from New York to Cleveland Ohio, starting the Cleveland Coal Company, which later became East Ohio Gas Company.
