Robert Scholey

Sir Robert Scholey CBE FREng[1] (8 October 1921 – 12 January 2014) was the Chairman of British Steel from 1986 to 1992.[2]

Early life

Scholey was born in Sheffield and was educated at King Edward VII School. He left school aged 16 to work for Steel, Peech and Tozer.[3][4] During World War II he served as a captain in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.[2] He was appointed a Fellow[1] of the Royal Academy of Engineering[1] in 1990.
