Music career
As well as being an actress, Tanaka is also a singer. Tanaka has released three albums: Garnet, 24 Wishes and Kokoro, but did not gain much success. Tanaka is also a member of the Steel Angels, a singing trio composed of the three lead voice actors of Steel Angel Kurumi, together with Atsuko Enomoto and Masayo Kurata. Tanaka published a photo collection called Irodorie in May 2008.
Personal life
Tanaka married fellow Japanese voice actor Kōichi Yamadera on June 17, 2011.[8] She had a fan club called Cafe de Rie that ran until 2013.[9] On June 23, 2013, a man with a knife intruded a Neptunia promotion where Tanaka was present,[10] yelling "Give me Tanaka! I am the victim!" In the hustle Tanaka fell and bruised her knee. After the incident, she took a break from Twitter[11][12][13] and later returned in 2014.[14] In August 2019, Tanaka and Yamadera announced they have filed for divorce.[15]
