Raymond Vautherin
Raymond Vautherin (18 September 1935 – 11 February 2018) was a French-born Italian linguist, poet and playwright. He wrote plays and poetry in patois from the Aosta Valley.

Early life
Raymond Vautherin was born on 18 September 1935 in La Thuile, Savoie, France to a French father and an Italian mother.[1] After his father died, he moved to Aymavilles in the Aosta Valley, Italy.
Career
Vautherin wrote poetry in patois from the Aosta Valley.[1] As a member of the Comité des Traditions Valdôtaines, or Committee for Aostan Traditions, he authored several plays in this patois and revived Charaban, a form of theater from the region.[1] He also translated the Book of Proverbs and The Little Prince into the patois.[2] From 1975 to his death, he was the editor-in-chief of Lo Flambò, the official magazine of the committee.[1]
Death
Vautherin died on 11 February 2018 in Aymavilles, Italy.[2]
