Rangi Matamua

Rangiānehu 'Rangi' Matamua is a New Zealand indigenous studies and astronomy academic and as of 2019 is a full professor at the University of Waikato.[1] He is Māori, of Tūhoe descent.

Academic career

After a 2006 PhD titled 'Te Reo Pāho : Māori radio and language revitalisation ' at the Massey University, Matamua moved to the University of Waikato, rising to full professor.[1][2][3]

Matamua has written widely on Matariki.[4][5][6][7][8][9]
