Raha Etemadi

Raha Etemadi (Persian: رها اعتمادی, born on November 4, 1984) is an Iranian Lyricist, Producer, Director, Documentary Maker and Host of Manoto TV channel and Stage talent show.[1][2]

Early life

He left his birthplace Tehran, at 9 months to emigrate to Stockholm, Sweden. He lived in Sweden until graduating from high school, In 2004, he left Sweden to pursue his studies in Psychology at the Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington state, he then moved as a sophomore student for Los Angeles and continued to study Psychology and Media.

Career

While completing his university degree, he co-founded the first Iran online TV-channel (www.bebin.tv) while at Bebin TV. Following the success of Etemadi's work with this channel he then help to launch a new TV/satellite channel: Manoto. The channel became an immediate success. Etemadi is the most notable staff in the channel and has been working with Manoto since the channel's launch in October 2010.[3]

Works

Some of his most notable works and contributions in Manoto include: Googoosh Music Academy, a project which he helped create and develop. It went on for three seasons and Etemadi was the project manager for the first two seasons. Stage, In Exile, From Tehran to Cairo, Tracking Memories, Reza Shah, Greatest Hits, and Answer. He wrote the lyrics of notable songs such as "Man Haminam", "Ye Harfae" and "To Daryayi" which were all produced for the talent show Googoosh Music Academy.

Songwriting

Raha Etemadi's first official song that was released was in support of PACI (Persian American Cancer Institute) a project which included some of the biggest names within Iranian Music, such as: Sattar, Morteza, Shahbal Shabpareh, Babak Amini etc. He then followed up his work with the Iranian diva Googoosh writing the controversial song "Man Hamoon Iranam" (I'm the same Iran). His collaboration with Googoosh continued and till this day the two most popular Googoosh songs (based on YouTube views) "Nagoo Bedrood" and Ye "Harfaee" are works of Raha Etemadi. His other popular songs for Googoosh and other Iranian pop stars include "Boghze Darya", "Noghteye Payan", "Norouze Man" and "Sedaye Sedaghat" and the last and newest song "Hastamo nistam".
