Predrag Vušović

Predrag "Pređo" Vušović (29 August 1960 – 17 February 2011) was a Croatian actor.[1][2] Vušović has been called a legend of Croatian theatre.[3][4][5]

He is widely known for his critically lauded role as Gazda in the Croatian comedy sitcom Bitange i princeze. He has appeared in more than fifty films, starring in How the War Started on My Island (1992), Marshal Tito's Spirit (1999), Witnesses (2003), Metastases (2009) and Koko and the Ghosts (2011).

Vušović has had an active career on stage as well.[6] From 1995 to his death, he was employed at the Drama Ensemble in the Zagreb-based theatre Gavella. In Gavella, he gave award-winning performances as Pomet Trpeza in Dundo Maroje (1995), the title king in Richard III (1997) and Autolycus in A Winter's Tale (1998).[7]

He has provided voice-work for numerous Croatian-language versions of animated feature films, including the Peddler in Aladdin (1992), Lucky Jack in Home on the Range (2004) and Master Splinter in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007).[8][9][10]

On 17 February 2011 at 4:40 am, Vušović died following a stroke.[11] Days prior, he was in a coma after a lifetime of alcoholism. He was buried in Dubrovnik.
