Philipp Karner

Philipp Karner, (born on July 15, 1979 in Vienna, Austria) is an American actor, writer, and director who is best known for starring in the film Kiss the Bride. His directorial debut "Like You Mean It" was released in 2015.

Career

Philipp Karner first appeared as the teenage Johann Strauss in the Austrian-based mini-series Strauss Dynasty. After he came to the US, he then studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Studio in New York.[1] Then in the United States, he appeared in television shows such as What I Like About You, Sex and the City,Will & Grace, The Sopranos, and Without a Trace. He became generally known for starring in the 2007 comedy Kiss the Bride. He also appeared in Corrosion and the 2010 film Fair Game. Philipp co-wrote and produced a film called "Diving Normal" which was released in 2013. It stars Susie Abromeit and Scotty Crowe as well as Philipp.[2] He then directed his first feature film. The film is called "Like You Mean It" and was released in December 2015.[3][4] He plays 'Jack Almond' in the 2019 Drama TV Series "West of Liberty" directed by Barbara Eder, based on spy book's by Thomas Engström.[5][6]

Personal life

Philipp Karner came to the U.S. when he was 19, in 1998 after he had finished his year of mandatory service (Conscription) in the Austrian military. His brother also completed a year of mandatory service in 2008.[1] He first lived in New York, but then moved to LA, where he has stayed for over 15 years.[1][3]
