Penghu Living Museum

The Penghu Living Museum (PHLM; Chinese: 澎湖生活博物館; pinyin: Pēnghú Shēnghuó Bówùguǎn) is a museum about the customs and culture of Penghu in Magong City, Penghu County, Taiwan.[1]

History

It had been a long time that the people of Penghu wished to have a museum dedicated to the customs and culture of Penghu, and in 1998 a museum was decided to be built as part of the major construction project of the county. In 2001, the Taipei National University of the Arts was commissioned to do the preliminary study and to lay the foundation for the project launching. In 2003, the Penghu County Government prepared the budget for the design and construction of the museum. The construction was completed in 2009 and the museum was opened on 3 April 2010.[1]

Architecture

The museum was designed by architect Lin Hsien-Jui Architects and Associate and constructed by Ta Mao Construction Co., Ltd. main contractor. The musum building is a four-story building with one basement floor.[2]
