Papilio iswara is not uncommon and not threatened.

- Papilio iswara iswara (southern Burma to Singapore, Sumatra, Bangka)
- Papilio iswara araspes C. & R. Felder, 1859 (northern Borneo, Natuna Island)

The holotype is conserved in the Natural History Museum, London.
