UEM Edgenta Berhad (MYX: 1368, “UEM Edgenta”) is one of Malaysia's largest total asset solutions businesses. It is the largest highway maintenance operator in Malaysia. A member of UEM Group,[6] the company has undertaken repair and maintenance works on highway facilities, such as road works and repair works, road line painting, cleaning works on lay-bys and rest and service areas, trimming grass and landscaping along expressway areas, road furniture installment and others.

Sectors, offerings, and services

UEM Edgenta offers the healthcare, infrastructure and real estate sectors a full suite of services throughout their asset life cycles. These include consultancy, procurement and construction planning, operations and maintenance, as well as optimisation, rehabilitation and upgrades.

For the healthcare sector, UEM Edgenta provides hospital support services to over 170 hospitals and healthcare institutions (private and public)[7] in Malaysia,[8][9] Singapore,[8][9] Taiwan,[8][9] and India.[10] Services provided to its healthcare segment include biomedical engineering maintenance, waste management, portering, and linen and laundry.

Under the infrastructure sector, UEM Edgenta maintains over 2,500 km[11] of highways, including the North South Expressway. On top of maintaining the road pavement, civil works and electrical works of the highways, UEM Edgenta also provides a special response team unit which provide 24-hour patrolling services to monitor and regulate traffic flow along North–South Expressway network. They are the first to be at site during emergency situation to manage the traffic and clear debris from accidents; to ensure smooth operation on the highway. The infra services’ main line workers carry out routine maintenance activities such as grass cutting, landscaping, drainage and culvert cleaning, guardrail repair and replacement and signboard cleaning. They are also responsible for routine maintenance of toll plazas and the periodic heavy work such as lane degreasing.

PROPEL Traffic Safety Unit’s staff is responsible to set-up and manage traffic schemes during diversions and road closures. They provide traffic management for all road upgrading and rehabilitation works carried out along the highway.

Under its real estate sector, UEM Edgenta currently offers an integrated service platform encompassing the complete asset and building life cycle. Services offered by UEM Edgenta includes property and community consultancy, project and asset management, development management – including building energy design and energy performance management system, integrated facilities management services,[12] township and community management services.

Edgenta PROPEL Berhad

Edgenta PROPEL Berhad ("Edgenta PROPEL") manages its infra services business[8] that provides structural works and maintenance service for infrastructures including highways, roads, bridges and railways. Edgenta PROPEL established its subsidiary, PT Edgenta PROPEL Indonesia, on August 23, 2016, to provide management consultancy and advisory services concerning the management of roads, including tolled roads.[13]

Edgenta PROPEL manages over 2,500 km[11] of highways and roads including the North-South Expressway (NSE),[8] the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE),[8] the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE),[8] the Federal Highway Route 2,[8] the Malaysia - Singapore Second Link,[14] the Penang Bridge,[8] the East Coast Expressway Phase 2 (ECE2),[8] and the state roads in Selangor.[8]

As of 2016, Edgenta PROPEL maintains the Cikampek-Palimanan toll road in West Java, Indonesia.[8]
