Career

Hardin was discovered at a pageant in her home state of North Carolina. She began her career in Tokyo, Japan. After being noticed by casting director Ashley Brokaw[3] she was cast in a Prada campaign photographed by Steven Meisel by age 13.[4] Designer Marc Jacobs was criticized for using Hardin, then aged 15, in his F/W 2012 fashion show, which he defended.[5] She received further controversy for appearing in a Chanel campaign at age 15,[6] and a Numéro editorial entitled "African Queen",[7] which the magazine apologized to the Huffington Post for.[8]

Her first editorial was for Russh magazine.[9] She has also appeared in magazines like Vogue, Vogue China, and Allure. Hardin has walked the runway for brands including Balenciaga, Dior, Michael Kors, Jil Sander, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino, Dries van Noten, Bottega Veneta, and Alexander McQueen.

Hardin was once ranked as a "Top 50" model by models.com[10]
