Olivia Vinall is an English/Belgian actress known for her roles in Apple Tree Yard (2017), The Woman in White (2018) and as Detective Matilda Stone in Queens of Mystery in 2019.

Early life
Olivia Vinall was born in Brussels, Belgium [3] and spent her childhood between London, Brussels, and Washington DC,[4] due to her father’s work as a diplomat; Her mother was a teacher. [1] Vinall lived most of her early life in Belgium, attending secondary school there, moving to Washington DC for five years. [2]
As an adult, Vinall studied drama at the University of East Anglia, where she graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree Drama before going on to Drama Studio London, for post-graduate experience.[5][3][2] Vinall has performed at the National Student Drama Festival and is an NSDF Alumni.[6]
Theatre
In 2010, Vinall’s first appearance on stage was in a production of Romeo And Juliet.[2] Further theatre work 2013 included playing Desdemona in Othello, and in 2014, Vinall starred as Cordelia in Sam Mendes’s King Lear at The Royal National Theatre.[1][2] In 2015, Vinall took centre stage again at National Theatre Live in Tom Stoppard's play The Hard Problem as Hilary. TV and Film
Olivia’s first television appearance was as Cassie Lock in the episode Cupcakes in Doctors in 2011.[8] In 2016, Vinall starred as the heroine Juliette in the Rock musical Gutterdämmerung alongside many rock legends like Iggy Pop, Grace Jones, Lemmy and Slash.[9] In 2017, Vinall starred in the BBC’s Apple Tree Yard, where she played Carrie alongside Emily Watson.[1] In 2018, Vinall starred in the arthouse Amma Asante directed romantic war drama film Where Hands Touch playing Hermine, a Jewish girl in Nazi Germany, alongside Abbie Cornish and Christopher Eccleston. [1][5] In the same year Olivia played two characters; asylum patient Anne Catherick and also Laura Fairlie in Wilkie Collins’ BBC period drama The Woman in White, alongside Charles Dance.[1][5]
In 2019, Vinall took lead role as Detective Matilda Stone in three episodes of the Acorn TV comedy-drama murder-mystery series Queens of Mystery[10]
Other Interests
Vinall supports equality and marched in London for women’s rights and against period poverty in 2018’ [1] She has also been vegan since 2017 for her beliefs in the environment. [1]
