He holds a bachelor in jazz guitar and ensemble playing from the jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium (2008–10).[2] He played in the band Afrocadabra with Chillton James (vocals & bass), Hanna Paulsberg (saxophone), Julius Charo Shutu (percussion), Thomas Torstrup (tangenter) and Ernst-Wiggo Sandbakk (drums). He has been part of the Albrigtsen/Formo/Østvang Trio and the Odd Steinar Albrigtsen Quartet, a quartet of musicians living in Oslo. This Norwegian/Swedish band cling to their roots in the American bebop tradition, yet with a focus on contemporary jazz.[3]

Albrigtsen worked as a guitar instructo at the Trondheim Kommunale Musikkskole and later at the Norstrand Kulturskole in Oslo.[2]
