Northern Virginia Magazine

Northern Virginia Magazine is a monthly magazine, which is available in the Northern Virginia region and Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The magazine published its first issue in 2006. It focuses on dining, shopping, travel and entertainment in the Northern Virginia area and frequently produces "best of" lists, including the yearly Best of NoVA list.[1]

Editorial Content

Northern Virginia Magazine strives to celebrate a region teeming with entrepreneurs and philanthropists; educators and politicians; entertainers and artists; families and students.

The magazine, as of August 2019, is currently broken down into seven departments: Notes, Datebook, Life & Style, Features, Home & Design, Food & Drink and SuperNoVA.

Notes is at the front of the book, featuring all the Northern Virginia news readers should know each month. Datebook is at the front of the book and contains all of the hottest events coming to the region that month. Life & Style is at the front of the book at contains information on what to buy, where to shop and how to live a healthy life in Northern Virginia.

Features are in the middle of the publication and range in topics from profiles on Northern Virginia notables to deep dives into politics, travel itineraries, "Best of" lists and much more.

Home & Design is in the back of the book and contains inspiration to turn your house into a home, with interior decorating tips, expert interviews and more.

Food & Drink features where to eat and sip that month, and includes in-depth restaurant reviews by the staff restaurant critic and dining editor, Stefanie Gans.

SuperNoVA is the last page of the magazine and features looks at important people, events and places that make Northern Virginia shine.

Daily editorial content is available online at the magazine's website, www.northernvirginiamag.com, covering culture, food, style, home, family, health, things to do and much more.

Newsstands

Northern Virginia Magazine is available at 7-Eleven, Balducci's, Barnes & Noble, Costco, CVS, Food Lion, Giant, Harris Teeter, Rite Aid, Safeway, Shoppers Food, Target, Walmart, Wegmans and Whole Foods locations throughout the region.

Circulation

Northern Virginia Magazine has a total readership of 150,000 each month and is published 12 times a year. The magazine has won a multitude of editorial and design awards, including 14 Virginia Press Association awards.

Leadership

In August 2018, Northern Virginia Magazine announced that Katie Bianco would replace longtime editor Lynn Norusis.

Northern Virginia Magazine's president and publisher is Sang Yang, the vice president is Fred Small and the associate publisher is Darin Baird.
