An elderly man died of a heart attack while waiting to be seen by a consultant in the A&E department of a hospital run by the Trust. It is accepted that a consultant should have seen the patient sooner but unclear if the patient's life could have been saved. Overcrowding in the A&E is blamed for the delay.[2]

In November 2015, chief executive Angela Hillery was a finalist for the HSJ Chief Executive of the Year.[3]

In March 2017, the Trust was rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission.[4]

There have, however, been numerous complaints about significant breaches of patient confidentiality at NHFT.[5]
