Nolan Evans

Nolan Evans (1885–1948), sometimes known as Peggy Evans, was an English professional football left back who played in the Football League for Clapton Orient.[1]

Personal life

Evans worked as a miner.[2] He served with the 17th (Service) Battalion of the Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) during the First World War.[3] He was wounded in the thigh at Delville Wood and nearly lost the leg as a result.[4] He was wounded again in March 1918 and the effects caused his retirement from football.[4]
