Lower Austrian News (also known as LAN) is a German language regional weekly newspaper published in St. Pölten, Lower Austria, Austria.[1]

History and profile

NÖN is published weekly[2] and is part of the NÖN Niederösterreichische Nachrichten company.[3] Its publisher is Niederösterreichisches Pressehaus.[4] The paper is based in St. Pölten[4] and provides mostly local news,[5] serving Lower Austria.[6] Walter Fahrnberger and Daniel Lohninger are the editor-in-chief of the paper.[7]

NÖN had a circulation of 184,000 copies in 2007[8] and of 170,000 copies in 2010.[9] According to Media Analyse 2015/16, the paper is regularly read by 535.000 people, 480.000 of which are from Lower Austria. This gives the paper a reach of 34.2% in Lower Austria, putting NÖN head on head with Krone (33.8%).[10]
