Genus:
Necrovirus
Type species
Tobacco necrosis virus A

Species

  • Tobacco necrosis virus A (TNV_A)
  • Tobacco necrosis virus D (TNV-D)[1]
  • Chenopodium necrosis virus (ChNV)
  • Black beet scorch virus [2]
  • Leek white stripe virus [2]
  • Olive latent virus 1 [2]

Tentative species

  • Lisianthus necrosis (LNV) (tentative)[3]
  • Carnation yellow stripe (tentative)

Status unknown

Morphology

Icosahedral structure, each face containing six identical capsid proteins, arranged in a rotationally symmetric manner.

Vectors

While necroviruses are spread by mechanical means, often relating to propagation, most, if not all, species have a common fungal vector, Olpidium brassicae
