Nahid Iskander Mirza, also known by previous name Nahid Afghamy, or Nahid Amirteymour, was an Iranian-Pakistani socialite who was the first lady of Pakistan between 1956 and 1958.[1]

Personal life

Born to an Iranian Kurdish aristocrat Amirteymour Kalali, Nahid was first married to an Iranian Lieutenant Colonel Afghamy, a then-military attache at the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan.[2] At the same time, Iskander Mirza was the secretary of the defence ministry in the embassy.[2]

She became the second wife of President of Pakistan, Iskander Mirza, whom she married in July 1953 after the death of his first wife and his son in an airplane crash in England.[2] Nahid was a cousin of the first lady of Pakistan Nusrat Bhutto.[2]
