History

Apartment Construction News

The magazine was started in 1966, as Apartment Construction News.[1] Wesley Wise was hired as the magazine’s first editor-in-chief.[2]

In 1991, Gralla Publications merged with Miller Freeman Publications to create Miller Freeman, Inc. Nine years later, Dutch publishing company VNU acquired Miller Freeman, Inc. for $650 million in cash.[3] VNU changed its name to Nielsen Holdings in 2007.

In 2009, Nielsen sold Multi-Housing News together with its sister newspaper, Commercial Property Executive, to Yardi Systems, Inc.[4]

Move from print to online

Yardi Systems relaunched Multi-Housing News in February 2010.[5] It continued with both its print and online versions until July 2012, when the magazine went completely digital.[6]
