Movie Magic

Movie Magic is a 2016 American family/fantasy short film written and directed by Chris Oz McIntosh. The film follows an 11-year-old movie buff who receives a visit from his Fairy Godfather and discovers that, with the power of his favorite films, he's destined to take the prettiest girl at school to the movies.

Production

McIntosh got the idea for the film after being impressed by the performances of Alexander and Columbus while he was working as the editor at a demo reel film camp for kids. The film was shot entirely in Norman, OK.[1] The movie is notable for featuring a replica of the DeLorean time machine from the Back to the Future film franchise. The time machine currently resides in Los Angeles, CA and was built by Gary Weaver II, who also built the time machine replica that is owned by comedian Seth MacFarlane[2] and was featured in A Million Ways to Die in the West.[3]

Although Movie Magic screened at the Red Dirt International Film Festival in 2015, it's official world premiere was at Trail Dance Film Festival in January 2016, where it took home Best Short Comedy.[4] Other notable festival appearances include deadCENTER Film Festival, USA Film Festival, Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival, which features exclusively kid-friendly films, Rockport Film Festival, Twister Alley Film Festival, Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival, FLY Film Festival, Bison Bison Film Festival, and Clean Shorts Film Festival.
