Moopil Nair

Moopil Nair is a subgroup of the Nair caste. They were naduvazhis and Desavazhis of tiny feudal kingdoms on the Malabar Coast, present-day Kerala state, South India.[1] The most famous of them were Vellodi of Valluvanad Valluvakonathiri, (who ruled the Kingdom of Valluvanadu before the Zamorin's forces conquered it)[2] and Kavalappara Moopil Nair (who ruled the small kingdom of Kavalappara Swaroopam).[1]
