Mike McPhail

Mike McPhail is an award-winning American author, editor, and game designer as well as publisher of fiction, and is best known for his work in military fiction.[1]

As an author, editor, and publisher Mike has worked on dozens of anthologies, including works by authors C. J. Henderson, Keith DeCandido, Bud Sparhawk, James Chambers, and Jack McDevitt

He is a regular speaker at industry and pop culture conventions, and has appeared as a guest speaker and panelist at Balticon,[2][3] Confluence,[4] Heliosphere,[5] LunaCon,[6][7] DerpyCon,[8] DexCon, Far Point,[9] Shikkaricon,[10] and Shore Leave.[11]

He is a member of the Military Writers Society of America (MWSA),[5] and the creator of the Alliance Archives (All'Arc) series and its related Martial Role-Playing Game (MRPG)[12]

Mike McPhail and his wife Danielle Ackley-McPhail are founders and owners of ESpec Books. a small press publisher. Mike is the Editor-in-Chief and publisher of ESpec Book's MilSciFi imprint, which focuses on Military Science Fiction.

So It Begins was a finalist for Best Anthology at the 2009 Indie Book Awards.[13]

Personal life

Mike attended the Academy of Aeronautics in New York (now the Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology) and served in the Air National Guard.

He lives in New Jersey with his wife fellow author Danielle Ackley-McPhail along with three cats.
