Michail Pirgelis

Michail Pirgelis (born 1976) is a German sculptor.

Pirgelis was born in Essen. He studied surveying at FH Bochum. From 1997 to 2001 he studied fine art at the Ruhrakademie in Schwerte, in the Ruhr. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, with Rosemarie Trockel and Martin Gostner. Pirgelis uses pieces of decommissioned commercial aircraft with minimal intervention;[1] they are presented as ready-mades.[2] He lives and works in Cologne.[3]
