Maya S. Krishnan

Maya S Krishnan is an Indian actress, model and singer who works in the Tamil film industry. She made her acting debut in the college musical film Vaanavil Vaazhkai2015').

Early life

Maya was born in Madurai, Tamilnadu, India and did her schooling in TVS Lakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madurai and she did her engineering at Amrita school of engineering, Bangalore.[1][2] She was a child gymnast and placed 6th in gymnastics during the Nationals.[3][4]

Her sister, Swagatha S Krishnan is a singer in the Tamil industry.[5]

Career

Maya changed her focus to theatre and film when she debuted in James Vasanthan's Vaanavil Vaazhkai, where she had to cut her hair short to play a singer. The film was described as "devoid of excitement"[6] and "a wasted effort".[7] She played a reporter in Thodari (2016) and also appeared in movies like Dhruva Natchathiram, 2.0, Magalir Mattum and Server Sundaram.[8][9][10]

Maya S Krishnan is trained by big master like Ima Sabithri - Manipur kalakshethra . She was also trained at Adishakthi in Pondicherry . She is a tireless crowd pleaser and a small town girl with a big heart and a bigger smile. She started out as an actor, gymnast, singer but driven by passion, soon acquainted herself with other artistic avenues such as improv comedy , storytelling , silambam and parkour. Her constantly growing range of interests brings out her pattern of learning artforms that engage both the mind and body. She brings in a fragment from each artform to any character she plays, making it harmonious experience. With her natural charm and her unfading discipline, she never fails to win the hearts of those who watch her magic on stage or on screen or in real life . She’s also a dedicated clown doctor and a believer of ‘Think happy, be happy’.

Maya started doing theatre with the Chennai-based theatre company [[perch(India)|]. Her character won hearts. She learnt hospital clowning from Fif Fernandes ( Canada ) and became one of the favourite clown doctors in the city , where she visits the Egmore Children’s Hospital and Kauvery Hospital as a clown doctor twice a week at various hospitals in Chennai. She believes laughter is the biggest medicine. Kira KOZHAMBHU by Perch is a highly acclaimed play that is presently travelling around the world and finished 96 shows. Kira kozhambhu will hit century very soon.She and her team consisting of three efficient storytellers are out for a campaign to reach Mr.Ki.Ra's short stories compilation to the young children in schools.she is also a part of the renowned theatre company called Indianostrum . She is doing a play calle ‘THE LITTLE PRINCE’- an adaptation of the French classic and is travelling with this production . [11] [12]
