Mangalore, Tasmania

Mangalore is a small town in southern Tasmania, Australia between the townships of Bagdad and Brighton. It is on the Midland Highway 32 km from the capital city of Hobart. At the 2006 census, Mangalore had a population of 983.[1] It is named after the city of the same name in the Indian state of Karnataka.[2]

Mangalore Post Office opened on 1 August 1891 and closed in 1969.[3]
