Mahmoud al-Sarkhi

Sayyid Mahmoud al-Hasani al-Sarkhi (Arabic:السيد محمود الحسني الصرخي) (born 1964) is an Iraqi Twelver Shia Marja'.[1][2][3] He has studied in seminaries of Najaf, Iraq under Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammad Sadeq al-Sadr and Ali al-Sistani.

Biography

Mahmood Al-Sarkhi Al-Hasani was born in Baghdad in 1964. His family traces its roots to Hasan ibn Ali. He was raised in the confines of his father and from the very early of his age, he was fond of scientific books. He finished primary and secondary school in his hometown. He was a very smart student and he entered the college of engineering civil department University of Baghdad and he graduated in 1987. [4] During his academic years, he was fond of religious sciences, so he started studying them in small mosques in Baghdad. Officially, He studied the religious sciences at the scientific centers Hawza in Najaf in 1994. Immediately, he joined Hawza run by Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammed Al-Sadr. From the very beginning, he was recognized by Al-Sadr as one of the smartest students in Hawza and he called him to attend Bahith Al_kharij (highest class for the religious students before the rank of Grand Ayatollah )
