Mahindra World City

Mahindra World City (MWC) is part of the USD 19 billion Mahindra Group, which is active in diverse markets including automotive, farm equipment, defence, hospitality, manufacturing, aerospace, retail, finance, real estate, and infrastructure. The organization maintains a presence in more than 100 countries.

Mahindra World City has pioneered in the concept of Sustainable Urban Communities. These large-format integrated cities create self-fulfilling environments that are promoted with the tagline "Livelihood, Living and Life". These cities are economic nerve-centers and attract large corporations, with an emphasis on economic development and employment generation by creating an appropriate infrastructure base that includes residential, commercial, and institutional areas. There are currently two operational cities at Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Jaipur, Rajasthan respectively.

The Group is growing its portfolio through launch of industrial clusters in states with strong industrial climate. These industrial clusters will be smaller industrial parks which will attract companies from across the world to set up their facilities in an enabling environment. The first industrial cluster is coming in North Chennai in partnership with Sumitomo Corporation and the second one near Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Mahindra World Cities - Locations

Mahindra World City, Chennai

Located on NH45, spreads over 1550 acres Mahindra World City, Chennai was established in 2002 and is India’s first functional Special Economic Zone (SEZ). MWC Chennai is promoted in a PPP between Mahindra Group and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (TIDCO). The business zone is divided into three sector specific SEZs for IT, Auto Ancillaries and Apparel & Fashion Accessories, and a Domestic Tariff Area. It houses more than 60 blue-chip including BMW, Infosys, Wipro, BASF, Renault-Nissan, Timken, Lincoln Electric, Heat & Control, Dorma, Fujitec, Parker, NTN Bearings, Lear Automotive, TVS Group of companies, Force Motors employing more than 38000 people. MWC Chennai is also India’s first IGBC Gold (Stage 1) certified Green Township.

MWC Chennai is currently home to over 2000 families across its four multi-format residential projects. Residents have convenient access to nearby commercial and recreational areas. The CBSE-affiliated Mahindra World School, a hospital, banks and ATMs, a commercial centre with retail outlets and a food court, a child care centre, the MWC Club and a business hotel are all located within MWC Chennai.

Mahindra World City Jaipur

Located off NH8, spans across 3000 acres Mahindra World City Jaipur was established in 2007 and is promoted in a partnership with Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO). MWC Jaipur provides a self-contained environment, enabling all aspects embodied in the promotional tagline of "Livelihood, Living & Life". It is perfectly located off Delhi-Mumbai Highway and within the influence area of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). Sustainability is a critical component of its development plan. MWCJ is proud to be Asia’s 1st and world’s largest project to reach Stage 2 of C40 Climate Initiative, a global benchmark for creating sustainable, carbon positive cities of the future. MWCJ is working together with Government of Rajasthan in contributing to drive industrialization initiatives for Rajasthan by attracting investments, generating employment, contributing to exports and providing long term solutions to the urban challenges we face today.

Industrial Park in Chennai

Industrial Park at Chennai by Mahindra World City is a joint venture between Mahindra World City Developers Ltd. and Sumitomo Corporation, Japan. The Industrial Park will be spread over a total area of ~ 700 acres when completed and the 1st phase of development will span over roughly 300 acres. The Industrial Cluster focuses on attracting large and medium global corporates across Engineering, Food Processing, Automotive, Logistics and Aerospace among other sectors.

Located on NH 16 (formerly NH 5) on the Chennai - Kolkata Highway (part of the Golden Quadrilateral), it is well connected by air, rail, road and sea.

It offers plug and play infrastructure, with smart elements to manage efficient in-house operations and maintenance with supporting infrastructure including residential and social infrastructure

Confluence

Confluence is an Annual Event held in Mahindra World City which aims at creating a common platform for International Property Consultants (IPC) fraternity. The intention is to bring them in concert on a single platform for exchanging thoughts, ideas, and opportunities revolving around the industrial and business growth and devise long-lasting business relationships.[2]

Recognition & Awards

The residential and social amenities zone at Mahindra World City, New Chennai designed by M/s HOK, USA, won two international awards for the ‘Mahindra World City’ master plan from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).[3]
