Lynne Ewing

Lynne Ewing is an American author and screenwriter who has written 24 Young Adult novels which have been translated into 7 languages. One was made into a movie. She began writing as a way to unwind from her job with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services. More than 100 of these pieces have been published in various magazines and newspapers including WOMAN’S DAY, WOMAN’S WORLD, THE LOS ANGELES HERALD EXAMINER, THE SAN DIEGO UNION AND READER’S DIGEST. Some were later republished in anthologies.

Her first book DRIVE-BY was an ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers and a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age. The book also received the 1999 Arizona Young Readers Award.


Her second book PARTY GIRL was an ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers, an Amazon Editor’s Choice, and a Teen People recommended read. The book was made into a movie called LIVING THE LIFE.


She wrote all thirteen books in the bestselling Daughters of the Moon series, which was also an ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers. She also wrote the popular Sons of the Dark series and the Sisters of Isis series.


Her last book THE LURE was an ALA In The Margins 2015 top ten titles for Youths in Custody.


Her books have been translated into seven languages.


She is a member of Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America. She spends her time between Washington DC, Montreal and Lyon, France.
