Lucija Čok

Lucija Čok is a Slovenian linguist. She is the former minister of education for Slovenia and the former rector of the University of Primorska, where she is a professor emeritus.

Čok was one of four children in a working class family. She went to school in Koper, and graduated from the University of Ljubljana in 1965.[1]

Čok served Slovenia as Minister of Education, Science and Sport from 2000 to 2002. In 2003 she became the founding rector of the University of Primorska. In 2006, she was awarded the Legion of Honour by French Republic.[2]
