History

When founder Jacob Cramer's grandfather died in 2010,[2] Cramer was stricken by grief.[3] Motivated to make a difference in his grandfather's honor, Cramer, 13, began writing notes to seniors in nursing homes, which eventually became "Letters of Love", a program that has collected over 100,000 handwritten letters for senior citizens.[4][5] The organization has grown internationally, with the sole mission of providing "love for the elderly."[6]

Press

The organization has appeared in The Chive[7] and the cover of American Profile. It was included in Glamour magazine's 31 days of kindness, alongside nonprofits like Oxfam and One.org.[8] It was covered by Rede Record – the 5th largest TV network in the world – for its humanitarian work in Brazil.[9]

In 2016, founder Jacob Cramer spoke on national daytime talk show Harry [10][11] on behalf of his organization's initiatives.

World Kindness Movement

In 2015, Love for the Elderly joined the four largest kindness-centered nonprofits in the United States, becoming a member of the World Kindness Movement.[12]
