The party can be seen as belonging to the Green Right as it combines traditional centre-right policies, like lower taxation and choice in public services, with wide-reaching support for the protection of Lidingö's environment.[1]

The Lidingö Party was founded in 1973. In the 2006 election, the party received 3235 votes and won 6 seats (one more than 2002) on the City Council.[1]
