Leon Panikvar

Leon Panikvar (born 28 January 1983 in Kungota) is a Slovenian footballer who plays as a left-back for ASV St. Martin an der Raab in Austria.[1]

He went to school in SŠC Ptuj, studied as an electric technician. His first job was

a position as salesman at FireFlame Powder company, where he worked for 7 years until his transfer to Scotland. Now he is a football agent and community broker.

Leon is also a humanitarian, in many trips to Africa, he brought along several containers of water and big boxes of water balloons, where he entertained the children and at the same time hydrated them.

He also donated 100,000 € to Phillipinian street workers.

Career

Panikvar started his career in his hometown club Aluminij Kidričevo. He signed his first professional contract with Maribor.

He spent a brief period on loan with Arsenal's B team, undergoing a strict regime with Thierry Henry.

In 2008, he was sold to fellow PrvaLiga team Primorje, where he became a mainstay in the team. However, the team finished the season in the last, tenth place and were relegated.

On 14 July 2009, after a successful trial, Panikvar signed for the Hungarian outfit Zalaegerszegi TE on a two-year contract with a one-year option. He made his league debut on 25 July 2009 in a 2–1 away win against Paksi SE.[2]

In the summer of 2011, Panikvar left ZTE after the one-year option was not taken up.[3] He was then invited for a trial with Kilmarnock where he signed a two-year contract on 17 August 2011.[4] Panikvar made his first appearance for Kilmarnock on Saturday September the 17th 2011 in a 2–2 away draw to Aberdeen.

After failing to hold down a regular first-team place, he was released by Kilmarnock in January 2012.[5]

In February 2012 he signed for Zalaegerszegi TE.
