Krzysztof Pietroszek

Krzysztof Pietroszek is a Polish/Canadian computer scientist[1], filmmaker,[2] and game designer, serving as tenure-track assistant professor in the School of Communication at American University. He is also an affiliate faculty in the Department of Computer Science at AU. He is the Founding Director of Immersive Designs, Experiences, Applications and Stories Lab (IDEAS Lab) at American University. Previously, Dr. Pietroszek was a professor of Computer Science at California State University.

His research and art projects involve designing volumetric capture equipment [3], telemedicine technologies, persuasive virtual and augmented reality, games for change, human-computer interaction,[4] interactive narrative and montage in virtual (VR), augmented (AR),[5] and mixed reality.[6][7] As a filmmaker, Krzysztof produced a Canadian feature Waiting for Summer and directed a number of short films.

Biography

Krzysztof Pietroszek received Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, M.F.A. in Film from York University, M.A. in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Wroclaw. He is married and has three sons.
