It was founded as a sub-holding company spun off from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) when HHI acquired Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in 2019.[2]
Its predecessor Hyundai Heavy Industries was incorporated on 23 March 1972 and is headquartered in Ulsan, South Korea.
The company is listed on the Korea Exchange and is a component of KOSPI Index.
