History

Kinetica Sports is an Irish sports nutrition brand which launched in 2009 [1] and is headquartered in Balineen Co. Cork, Ireland. It expanded into the UK in 2011.[2] Kinetica is owned by Carbery Food Ingredients.[3] Kinetica’s products were developed along with a team of experts which includes Matt Lovell,[4] nutritional consultant for Aston Villa Football Club, the England Women’s National Football Team and the England Rugby Team, as well as a team of research technologists.

Ingredients

Kinetica source their whey protein from Irish grass-fed cows,[5] and their farmer-owned parent company is one of the largest single cheese producing plants in the UK and Ireland.[6] Their products are batch-tested by HLF Sport and are screened within the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) standards. A number of their products are registered with Informed-Sport (a quality assurance programme for sports nutrition products).[7]

Kinetica is stocked online at www.kineticasports.com , in selected Holland and Barrett outlets and in 57 GNC Sports Nutrition stores in the UK.[8] They are the nutrition partner of the Hilton Living Well Gyms in 48 clubs across the UK [9] and Bannatynes Health Clubs in 60 gyms in the UK.[10] In Ireland, Kinetica products are available in a number of retail outlets – Applegreen, Topaz, Esso, Spar, Eurospar, Mace, Centra, Londis, SuperValu and a number of independent health food shops.[11] Kinetica Sports is a member of the ESSNA (European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance).[12]

Kinetica recently launched the Protein Deluxe 65g bar in cookies and cream and chocolate brownie flavour [13]

Sponsorships

Kinetica Sports has sponsored the Connacht Rugby Team since 2013 and have been the Official Sports Nutrition supplier to Bath Rugby since the start of the 2014/2015 season.[14] Irish triathlete, Bryan Keane,[15] is also sponsored by the brand as are the Leicester Riders, the oldest professional club in British basketball.[16] Kinetica Sports is also affiliated with CrossFit Bath [17] and are the official nutrition suppliers to Oxford University Rugby Club [18] and Cambridge University Rugby Club [19]

Employees

Employees include prominent Kilkenny hurler Richie Power [20] and former Irish professional footballer Sean Prunty. Paul Donegan is the Business Manager at the company [21]
