Kevin Kerslake

Kevin Kerslake is an American music video director and occasional television commercial director. He has directed videos for Liz Phair, Stone Temple Pilots, Filter, R.E.M. ("The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite"), 311, Blue October, Faith No More, Soundgarden, Green Day, Depeche Mode, The Smashing Pumpkins, Helmet, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Rise Against, Sam Phillips, The Offspring, Throwing Muses, Mr Bungle, and Atreyu.

Kerslake started his directing career by making surf, skate, ski, and snowboarding films throughout his teens and started directing music videos in the 1980s. In the 1990s he directed several award-winning music videos for popular rock and alternative rock bands, and directed commercials for companies such as Nike, AT&T and Coca-Cola.

Kevin Kerslake has also made several music and culture documentaries, such as Nirvana's Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!, The Ramones' We're Outta Here!, and Quiksilver's surf documentary Continuum.

His most recent work is directing the video for Rise Against's "Re-Education (Through Labor)" and "Savior" (both from the album Appeal to Reason), and Blue October's "Dirt Room" (from their album Approaching Normal).

The Offspring guitarist Noodles has praised Kerslake's unique videos as very "off the wall."
