Keury Mella

Keury Mella (born August 2, 1993) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds.

Career

San Francisco Giants

Mella signed with the San Francisco Giants as an international free agent in 2011.[1] He made his professional debut in 2012 with the Dominican Summer League Giants. He spent 2013 with Arizona League Giants and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and 2014 with the Augusta GreenJackets.[2][3]

Cincinnati Reds

On July 30, 2015, the Giants traded Mella and Adam Duvall to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for Mike Leake.[4] The Reds added him to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.[5] He made his MLB debut on September 20, 2017 and pitched in 4 games for the Reds. Mella was outrighted off the Reds roster following the 2019 season. He became a free agent following the 2019 season.[6]

Arizona Diamondbacks

On November 8, 2019, Mella signed a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks, and was invited to major league Spring Training.
