Kelsey Chow

Kelsey Asbille Chow (born September 9, 1991) is an American actress.[1] She is known for her role as Mikayla in the Disney XD sitcom Pair of Kings. From 2005 to 2009, she had a recurring role as Gigi Silveri on the drama One Tree Hill. She portrayed Tracy Stewart in MTV's Teen Wolf from 2015–2016.

This is a Chinese name; the family name is Chow.

Early life

Chow was born to a Chinese father, and an American mother[2][3] in Columbia, South Carolina. She stated in 2010 that she wanted to be able to speak more fluently in Mandarin Chinese as well as be able to read traditional Chinese characters.[4][2]

In 2017, when she was cast in Native American roles, she claimed to be descended from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, but the tribe issued a statement saying they have no record of Chow, nor did they find any evidence that she is a descendant.[3][5][6]

She has two younger siblings: a brother who is two years younger and a sister who is eight years younger. She attended Hammond School for high school, located in Columbia, SC.

She is based in Los Angeles,[7] but also lives some of the time in New York City[7][8] where she has attended Columbia University as a Human Rights major.[9][10][5]

Career

After gaining experience in community theatre, Chow got her first television role in 2005 where she played the recurring role of Gigi Silveri on One Tree Hill at the age of 13 appearing on the show until 2009.[11][12]

In 2008, she guest starred on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. She also co-starred in the Disney Channel original film Den Brother.

From 2010 to 2013, Chow co-starred as Mikayla on Disney XD original series Pair of Kings.[13]

In 2012, Chow had a small part in The Amazing Spider-Man,[14] and was later cast in the feature film Run.[15]

In 2014, she was cast in the Fox drama Hieroglyph.[16] However, the series was cancelled before it premiered.[17]

She co-starred in 2015 with Stefanie Scott in the music video for Hayley Kiyoko's song "Girls Like Girls", [18] and appeared in the recurring role of Tracy Stewart on season five of Teen Wolf (the first ten episodes premiered on June 29, 2015, while the second half premiered on January 5, 2016).

For all of her work up through 2017, she has used the name Kelsey Chow. For Wind River and Yellowstone, where she played Native American women, she used the name Kelsey Asbille.[3]
