Katherine Ebbs

Katherine Ebbs (born 29 July 1993)[1] is an Australian football (soccer) player currently playing for Adelaide University Soccer Club in the PS4 Women's National Premier League. Ebbs has also played professionally in the United States of America and Sweden.

Club career

Adelaide United (Adelaide, Australia)

2010-11

Ebbs signed for Adelaide United FC (W-League) in the 2010-11 W-League season.

2011-12

Ebbs made her senior debut for Adelaide United in the 2011-12 W-League Season. Ebbs scored the winning goal in the club's only win for the season in a 1-0 victory over Perth Glory on 16 December 2011.

Embry-Riddle (Daytona Beach, USA)

Ebbs played in 77 contests with 73 starts, and tallied 21 goals and 34 assists in her four-year career at Embry-Riddle. She currently ranks third in assists and ninth in points (76) in Embry-Riddle's all-time listing.

During her career, Ebbs helped the Eagles to two conference titles and four NAIA National Championships appearances, including a national semifinal finish in 2014. She was recognised for her accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom as she was a two-time All-Sun Conference selection, a two-time NAAI-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete, an NSCAA All-Region selection and an Academic All-Conference honouree.[2]

2012

Ebbs joined Embry-Riddle in 2012. Ebbs made the first team All-Conference selection in her first season and was named in the Embry-Riddle Athletics President's Team. Ebbs played in all 23 contests, drawing 22 starts and was the team leader in assists with 11, contributed four goals.

2013

In her second season with Embry-Riddle, Ebbs played in all 22 games and made her second first team All-Conference selection. Other highlights include, becoming a NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and making the Academic All-Conference team. Ebbs netted the game-winning goals against SCAD (Oct. 4) and Southeastern (Oct. 19) and contributed a goal and an assist in the Eagles’ NAIA National Tournament Opening Round win against Reinhardt (Nov. 23). Ebbs also assisted the game-winner against William Carey (Dec. 3).[3]

2014

Ebbs played 17 games for the Eagles in 2014, scoring 7 goals. Honorable Mention All-Conference…NAIA Scholar-Athlete…Academic All-Conference…started in all 17 games she played in…compiled 23 points on seven goals and team-high nine assists…second on the squad in game-winners (3)…converted on each of her two attempts from the penalty spot…totaled six points on a pair of scores and two assists against Oklahoma Baptist (Sept. 7)…also assisted on two goals against Concordia-Irvine (Aug. 29) and Hastings (Dec. 1)…scored the game-winning goal against Webber International (Oct. 24) to help keep the Eagles’ perfect conference record alive.

2015

Ebbs played 15 games and scored 5 goals for Embry-Riddle in 2015.

Adelaide University (Adelaide, Australia)

2015

In the summer of 2015, Ebbs continued to play competitively, scoring eight goals in 12 games for Adelaide University in the PS4 Women's National Premier League (WNPL) in her hometown. She also represented Adelaide University in two contests in the FFSA Federation Cup and compiled seven goals in these matches.

2016

Ebbs returned to the Embry-Riddle Women's Soccer program in the fall of 2016 as a Graduate Assistant coach.[4]

2017

Ebbs returned to Adelaide in 2017 and is part of the leadership group at Adelaide University Soccer Club in the PS4 WNPL.[5]

Sundsvalls DFF (Sundsvall, Sweden)

2017

Ebbs was recruited mid-season for struggling Swedish Elitettan side Sundsvalls DFF. Ebbs played 9 games for Sundsvalls DFF, scoring 5 goals. Ebbs' leadership and skill helped turn Sundsvalls DFF's season around and the club avoided relegation.[6]

Personal life

Katherine was born in 1993 in Adelaide, South Australia. Katherine moved back to her family's hometown of Liverpool, UK, at a young age before moving back to Adelaide in 1999. Ebbs attended secondary school at Mercedes College. Katherine is the third child of John and Abby Ebbs and is a lifetime supporter of Everton F.C.. During interviews, Katherine often recalls the special place in her heart that she holds for her dear younger sister, Amielia Ebbs. Acting as one of Katherine's greatest inspirations, Amielia also plays elite soccer in the PS4 Women's National Premier League (WNPL).
