Karthavyam (1990 film)

Karthavyam is a 1990 Telugu-language political action film directed by Mohan Gandhi. The film was a blockbuster and was subsequently dubbed into Tamil as Vyjayanthi IPS. The lead actress Vijayashanti won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in this film.[1] The film was written by Paruchuri Brothers and is roughly based on the real-life story of Kiran Bedi, IPS Officer.[2] The film was premiered at the 14th International Film Festival of India in the mainstream section.[3] The film was remade in Tamil as Bhavani: The Real Police (2011).[4]
